Markie's Post

ANNOUNCER: You loved her tightly wound character on the hit NBC sitcom Night Court! And you've seen her in--well--Night Court. Join me in welcoming to the shower Markie Post!

(AUDIENCE APPLAUSE)

(MARKIE, in a stunning evening gown, enters the shower. MARC squeezes some shampoo into his right hand and begins massaging it into MARKIE'S back.)

MARKIE (moans): That feels good.

MARC: It sure don't hurt!

(MARKIE giggles.)

MARC: What a sincere sensation it is to have you here today.

MARKIE: I'm glad to be here today.

MARC: Well, today you are here.

MARKIE: That's right.

MARC: You seem like a very clean woman. How do you do it?

MARKIE: I usually take one shower every day, preferably in the morning.

MARC: Unfortunately, that seems to be the trend nowadays.

MARKIE (concerned): You don't think that's enough?

MARC: To be honest, for some one like you, no it's not. If you were a Plain Jane or confined to some type of rolling chair, then, yes, you could get away with one shower per day. But, Markie, my dear, this isn't Bollywood, it's Hollywood. Time to grow up.

MARKIE: You're right. You're absolutely right.

MARC: Did the cast from Night Court ever shower together? After a long day on the set I imagine you guys must've wanted to save time and get home to your families and loved ones. I'm sure Richard Moll had an oversized shower in his dressing room. You guys ever jump in for a quick rinse?

MARKIE: Actually, our dressing rooms didn't have showers.

MARC (disgusted): That makes me sick.

MARKIE: Between you, me and the tiled walls, that's one of the reasons I left the show.

MARC: Look at you, Markie Mark, standing up tall for what you believe in. You know I've always wanted to call myself Marky Marc but if you add a "Y" or an "IE" to my name it reads Marcy so it never really panned out.

(SILENCE.)

MARC: Now, you made a failed pilot for CBS in 2001 called Late Boomers, correct?

MARKIE: Yes.

MARC: We have a friend in common.

MARKIE (smiles): I know.

MARC: Scott Bakula had a role in that pilot.

MARKIE: A beautiful man. Inside and out.

MARC: He's committed to teaching our children to bathe properly.

MARKIE: Who isn't?

MARC: Good question.

MARKIE: Great question.

MARC: Great guest.

MARKIE: Great interview.

MARC: Don't I know it. Thanks for coming!

(APPLAUSE. The BAND kicks into the theme song and the shower curtain closes.)
